Pollinators are vital for our food security and the survival of many wild plant species, yet they are currently under threat.
Did you know that every third mouthful of food we eat is thanks to pollinators? Without them, the availability and diversity of fresh food would decline dramatically, as 3 out of 4 crops that we grow require pollination by insects. Additionally, many wild plants that support our wildlife rely on pollinators for their reproduction.
However, there is hope to protect pollinators and turn things around. The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust are doing vital work to protect pollinators in the region, and with your support, we can continue our efforts. The Trust manages 35 nature reserves across the area, carefully managing and protecting them to help pollinators thrive.
