Our pollinators are facing a crisis and we must take swift action to protect these small yet incredibly powerful creatures. Without their vital role, our world would be a barren and desolate place. However, it's not too late to make a difference. By saving our pollinators, we can help ensure a future that's abundant and teeming with life!

Pollinators are vital for our food security and the survival of many wild plant species, yet they are currently under threat.

Did you know that every third mouthful of food we eat is thanks to pollinators? Without them, the availability and diversity of fresh food would decline dramatically, as 3 out of 4 crops that we grow require pollination by insects. Additionally, many wild plants that support our wildlife rely on pollinators for their reproduction.

However, there is hope to protect pollinators and turn things around. The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust are doing vital work to protect pollinators in the region, and with your support, we can continue our efforts. The Trust manages 35 nature reserves across the area, carefully managing and protecting them to help pollinators thrive.

For one week only, between 20–27th April we have the opportunity to raise an additional £10,000 to help us achieve our mission!

Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust also collaborates with local landowners to make their land a better place for pollinators. This includes advising landowners to leave Wild corners and field margins where pollinators can breed and hibernate. Moreover, the Trust monitors, studies, and surveys grassland plants and pollinating insects to identify special places and important species. This information helps to identify which areas need protecting and enhancing to help pollinators thrive.

Finally, the Trust engages with people across Leicestershire and Rutland, working with schools, businesses, community groups, organizations, councils, and individuals to educate and encourage a love of pollinators. By inspiring people to take action for precious species like pollinators, we hope to ensure that these vital creatures continue to thrive in the region.

For one week only between 20–27th April we are asking for your help to raise £5,000, which will be Match Funded by 'The Big Gives, Green Match Fund' so we can continue our mission to educate, inspire and lead people in our region to act swiftly to protect our pollinators.

Any donation you can make will be doubled by the Green Match Fund, meaning one donation will make double the impact!
